Ophelia Mint & Orchid Beaded Pen Cover Wrap
Ophelia Mint & Orchid Beaded Pen Cover Wrap
I've noticed that all the abstract painting I did last year has started to influence my beadwork designs. Instead of a flat swirl, there's a foreground and background and I love it!
This whirly design is done in mint and purple on an elegant gold and white striped background. With a sophisticated color palette, it needed a distinguished name, which also happens to be the name of my orchid.
I use a needle, super strong One G thread, and a technique called peyote stitch to weave each bead in place, one at a time. This process takes 3-4 hours and the result is a strong yet flexible tube of beads. When the ink runs out, the beaded cover slides off so it can be placed on a new pen.
I chose to pair my beadwork with G2 Pilot Pens because the gel ink is smooth, water resistant, and acid free (archival safe). Perfect for journaling, planners, and more.
